Hair loss and thinning can result from various factors, including genetics, stress, and physical or emotional trauma. When stress levels are high, the natural hair growth cycle can change. Normally, hair spends approximately 85% of its life in the anagen (growth) phase. However, in people experiencing stress, hair may transition prematurely into the telogen (resting) phase, after which the hair eventually sheds. This condition, known as telogen effluvium, can cause hair loss across the entire scalp. The good news is that stress-related hair loss is not necessarily permanent!
